RoHS & REACH Compliance
X-FAB Product Declaration of Non-Use of Banned Substances
In line with the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy of X-FAB, we are working continuously on the reduction of environmental impact via legal compliances.
It is X-FAB's policy, that all purchased materials shall satisfy current government and safety constraints on restricted, toxic and hazardous materials; as well as environmental, electrical and electromagnetic considerations applicable to the country of manufacture and sale.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
X-FAB hereby confirms that all its products supplied to its customers and/or its subsidiaries do not contain “intentionally introduced“ lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) as defined in the Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) (Recast) EU Directive 2011/65/EU and the Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of 31 March 2015 amending Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU unless exempted by regulation.
X-FAB further declares that any unintentional contaminant concentrations of these substances are:
a. Below 0.1% for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and
polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) for each homogenous material
b. Impurities of cadmium are less than 0.01% for each homogenous material
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH)
All products produced by X-FAB are classified as Articles and therefore will not need registration under REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) Regulation EC/1907/2006.
X-FAB hereby confirms that all its products supplied to its customers and/or its subsidiaries do not contain:
1. Any of the substances in the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
This includes the new substances announced by ECHA on 7 July 2017.
2. Any of the substances mentioned in Annex XVII of REACH regulation
Halogen Free (Bromine & Chlorine)
X-FAB hereby confirms that all its products supplied to its customers and/or its subsidiaries, does not contain any halogen (bromine and chlorine) as defined under IEC 61249-2-21.
Sourcing materials from Conflict Regions
X-FAB is aware of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Wall Street Reform Act) requirements regarding the sourcing of metals (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) from conflict regions. X-FAB requests all our relevant suppliers to source for minerals from regions that are conflict-free and not from DRC and its neighbouring regions.
At this point of time, to the best of X-FAB’s knowledge, X-FAB products do not use materials that are sourced from mines in conflict regions in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (“Conflict Regions”). As the list of CFSP (Conflict-Free Smelter Program) Compliant Tungsten Smelters is still in progress, X-FAB will continue to work with our suppliers on this matter.
