Physics Afternoon – experience semiconductor technology at first hand

As part of their physics course, a group of ninth-graders visited us on February 20, 2012, from the Heinrich Mann high school in Erfurt.Together, we looked at the basic principles of semiconductor technology, in particular the architecture and operation of transistors. With the aid of numerous practical examples, we delved into the world of micro- and nanostructures. The experience came alive when the students looked through the microscope in the training center.Semiconductors, bipolar transistors, field-effect transistors...

the verdict on the day: Physics can be a lot of fun!
