1st Silicon Wins 2004 Silver Award for Malaysian Occupational Safety and HealthSarawak, Malaysia, 9月 26, 2005.
1st Silicon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., -- a 200mm wafer foundry specialist, announced that it has won the Malaysian Society's Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) award. The 2004 MSOSH Occupational Safety and Health award credited 1st Silicon on the Company's appealing and successful safety practices, health management and performance.
Each year, participants compete in eight business categories. For this year's award, 1st Silicon achieved the notable award in the Electronics and Electrical sector. The award is an excellent tool in assisting companies to develop long-term safety and management systems that benefit employees as well as the organization at large.
Dr. John Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of 1st Silicon remarked, While 1st Silicon fulfills its role and mission to operate a state-of-the-art wafer fabrication facility, we are also committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees and contractors on-site. This is 1st Silicon's fourth consecutive annual award, commendation and recognition in the environmental, health and safety categories. Over the last 3 years, the Company also won the 2004 ACCA Malaysia Commendation in Innovative Environmental Reporting, 2003 ACCA Malaysia Commendation Environmental Reporting as well as 2002 - 2003 Prime Minister's Hibiscus Award for Notable Achievement in Environmental Performance.
