1st Silicon Opens Japan Sales Office, Expands Presence in AsiaSarawak, Malaysia, August 24, 2005.
1st Silicon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., -- a leading 200mm wafer fabrication foundry, announced the opening of its new sales office in Yokohama, Japan, to expand and enhance the Company's customer support in the region.
The Company named Mr. Hideki Takizawa as the General Manager for the Japan office. Mr. Hideki Takizawa has more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor business, with the past ten years dedicated to the foundry business in Japan. His previous position was as Senior Sales Manager of Chartered Semiconductor Japan.
"1st Silicon's relationship with Japanese companies is part of its legacy," stated Dr. John Nelson, 1st Silicon Chief Executive Officer. "Sharp was our first technology partner and customer seven years ago and our relationship continues today with the technology transfer of three generations of NOR Flash technologies including 0.13um technology. The new service and support center in Japan lets us quickly accommodate the needs of this and other valued customers."
Mr. Takizawa added his comments, saying, "1st Silicon can offer Japan-based semiconductor companies the flexibility and nimble responsiveness of a foundry. My goal is to provide customers with excellent support tailored to their needs and rapid in its delivery."
