X-FAB Announces Highest Quarterly Sales in Company HistoryErfurt, Germany, November 17, 2005.
X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries AG, one of the world's leading analog mixed-signal semiconductor foundries, achieved its highest-ever sales, reporting EUR 42.2 million for the third quarter of 2005. This reflects a 10.3% growth rate compared to sales of EUR 38.3 million in the same period last year. The company more than doubled its operating income of EUR 5.0 million for the timeframe July to September. The third quarter book-to-bill ratio also increased to 1.0, compared to 0.94 in the second quarter.
Sales in the first nine months of 2005 increased by EUR 14.3 million to EUR 119.6 million in comparison to the same period last year. This translates into a growth rate of 13.6%. The operating income for the first three quarters increased by EUR 3.1 million to EUR 8.4 million. The net income for this period was EUR 8.8 million, up from EUR 6.1 million for the same period last year.
X-FAB expects sales of more than EUR 160 million for the year 2005. This increase of more than 12.5% compared to the previous year significantly exceeds industry average forecasts. The company also expects a significantly improved operating result compared to fiscal year 2004.
